Airfix new release 1/72 Spitfire Mk.I/IIA A2010

Post by skypirate »

Very nice, in spite of the now-standard deep panel lines.
Comes with different props, canopies, antenna masts, exhaust stacks, and underwing oil coolers for the 2 different marks, plus the separate starboard engine cowling bulge for the IIA.
Comes with bulged and flattened mainwheels.
Comes with separate posable rudder. All fabric control surfaces are nicely restrained.
Comes with enough cockpit detail to look busy, including sidewall details, the framing behind the seats (and oxy bottles) and control runs underfoot (correctly, no floor). Decal for the instrument panel. Gunsight is part of the panel (not a clear part).
Nicely printed decals for Mk.I, 19 Sqn, 1938 and Mk.IIA 'Borough of Lambeth', 118 Sqn, 1941. Colours look right. Decals include a sky blue fuselage band to match the spinner of the Mk.IIA (otherwise Sky undersides).
Go out and buy one or more!

cheers,

David
