HellerHumbrol 1/43 Citroen 11CV, kit ref 80159

The car
The Citroen Traction Avant of which the 11CV was a model of (other models were the 7CV and 15CV) was produced from 1934 to 1957 with around 760,000 units built in total of all models.
The 11CV was produced in November 1934 with a 1911cc four cylinder engine. It was later produced in 2 forms, the 11BL (legere or light) with same wheelbase as the 7CV and 11B (normale) which had a longer wheelbase and wider track.
Production of the 11BL ceased during November 1941 and began again in 1945. When production resumed very little was altered from the 1941 cars.
The Traction Avant was used and liked by the French Army, German Army, French Resistance and French Gangsters amongst others.

The kit
This is a reboxing of the Heller Citroen 11CV that was first produced in 1979, supplied in an end opening box that has to be torn to get the contents out and is not resealable. The car that is kitted is meant to be the Citroen 11BL but i think it is a little too short by 2mm (about 3 and 1/4 scale inches) but it still captures the Traction Avant look very well.
The kit contains 29 parts on 3 sprues (one black, one chromed and one clear) plus the bodyshell. External detail is both raised and engraved like on the real car. Internal detail consists of seats, steering column and wheel which is adequate for this scale.
A small decal sheet supplies licence plates only.

Paint callout is for Heller and/or Humbrol Enamels
