Re: (Re)introduce Yourself
Hello to all from down here in Great Oz !! Been lurking for some considerable time since I joined last year so I thought I'd better speak up.
Some will know me from other forums where I'm a member using the same FAAMAN handle.
I've been modelling with Airfix (and others) on and off (with interruptions like girls, joining the RAN & getting married) since I was 4 (care of Mum & Dad + older brother). My first model being a 75cent 1/72 Yak-9D in 1966-67!! There's a Sunderland in there somewhere too. My first ship model being HMS Victorious a couple of years later. I've got a reasonably good record of the models I've built as I was shown at a very early age to scrapbook the boxes/instructions etc that came with the kits. My oldest surviving Airfix Model being a 1/72 Fw 190D from 1969 that has been rebuilt several times (badly see pic ).
Like many, I've more "started" projects than finished, a couple of boxes full of broken models (not just Airfix, to be repaired at a later date) so not so many Airfix survivors as I'd like but I think I'm up around the 500's for finished builds, not just for myself but I used to build for others too (although considering my current skills I'd hate to see what I built and handed over back then ).
I look forward to sharing my builds (even with my glacial building rate) with you all
My oldest surviving model, don't laugh too hard it was rebuilt last in the late '70s the original Airfix Fw 190D-9(?),

Hi Neil
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

Re: (Re)introduce Yourself
I've battled Mojo and "Advanced Modeller's Syndrome" for ages, started 8 kits but only produced two builds in four years of returning to the hobby. It will get better :D

Re: (Re)introduce Yourself
*Cough cough*
G'day all. Sorry for the long time between my last model (and my last post on here). Life kinda got in the way and I haven't been building a single model kit at ALL. So now, I'm going to return back to this hobby and start up the bench again. When I eventually get it cleaned off from the cobwebs, sleeping cats and dust

Currently Building: FROG Wildcat, Fokker DR1 Red baron and some other things...
