Greetings from Texas ....
My name is actually Cliff Button and I built many Airfix kits as a child. I have been tempted to join the site by your paper model guru Simon. I always wanted more kits than I could afford when younger, so I started designing and building primitive paper models decades ago. It wasn't until the advent of the 'net that I realized how popular paper (or card) modeling actually was (and still is). Beginning in early 2003, I started papertigerarmaments.com. We sell mostly armor and land vehicle models, but also some buildings, figures, boats, aircraft, etc. These are all offered at 1/72 scale.
Cheers, C.B.

Welcome to the Forum Cliff.
I'm glad Simon has tempted you to join us, card models are just starting to pick up on this site as you can see we have our first Card GB running as I type.
I have only just had my eyes opened to the world of card models and have started to find it most enjoyable.
You will find us all a friendly bunch on this site so please feel free to show us your work.

Hi Cliff, great to see another Papermodelers.com member over here - I suspect that there are quite a few lurkers especially while our Paper Model GB is under way - feel free to leap on in to the discussions and builds, would love to see some of your work on this side as well...the GB runs to Christmas Eve (subtle hint)...

Thank you for the warm welcome gents, and thank you Jratz for moving my post to a better place. I'm fumbling through the process of adding an avatar. Is that the same as a "profile picture"? I'm finding my way around bit by bit, kind of like a kit...lol!

No, a profile picture is not the same as an avatar from the board settings but could be visually if you wanted them to be.Tex Roberts wrote:Thank you for the warm welcome gents, and thank you Jratz for moving my post to a better place. Regardless you enter them in two different places under your profile in the User Control Panel. Your profile picture is at the bottom of your profile, while the avatar setting is a left-menu-choice. Please see the size & dimension limits.
Any problems getting set up, ask away - you might look in the "Site Rules & Answers...", the very top forum, to see if your question has already been asked/answered - this particularly for "how to post a picture" ....

Thanks John,
I did get a proper avatar ready, I just hadn't figured out the last step. Got it done now. Cheers!
