Hello!

Post by OllieK »

Hiya! Thought I'd start posting after lurking here for a while.

I've recently started modelling again after a break of about 4 years or so. About a month back I had a free weekend and got an urge to start building again, so I headed down to my LMS and picked up an Airfix Do17/Defiant dogfight double. My first impression, getting back into this hobby is how much airfix have upped their game whilst I've been gone. I bought the set expecting tired old 70s moulds, but instead was greeted with a very full box of brand new plastic

They fell together very nicely, so I ordered one of the multi buy sets airfix currently has. Picked up a spit, hurricane, 109 and another defiant, as well as the humbrol workstation, which has been handy, as I don't have a dedicated modelling bench.

Here are my completions since restarting:

About to start a hurricane, so I might post some progress pics of that.

Hi Ollie and welcome to the forum. Enjoy your stay. Some rather nice looking builds.

Welcome aboard !
Judging from those photos, the 4-year break didn't hurt your skills !!

Good heavens. After nearly five years away, I can barely open a tin of paint correctly. These look fantastic.
