Another newcomer, please be gentle!

Post by Pete236 »

Morning all.

Another newcomer here, from Reading, Berks.

I squidged a few kits together as a yoof (though rarely finished them!) and modelling kept me amused forany years. Bits like most of us it seems, I found alcohol and girls, full size cars and motorcycles, and modelling fell off the radar.

A chance glimpse of a picture of FaceAche has re-kindled the old bug though, so I've got a couple of basic Airfix 1/72 kits to see if I still enjoy sticking myself to bits of plastic - and I do!

I hope to do some learning from you knowledgeable folks, and see if I can't finish off some of my childhood kits.

Many thanks, Pete.

Welcome on board Pete. It was a period of post operation convalescence that got me back into the hobby after a 40-ish year hiatus. I thought I’d beaten the plastic bug, but once bitten......

Welcome aboard Pete! A familiar story to a lot of us, even more so for me having grown up in Reading (well Woodley to be accurate) and lived in the vicinity until 1988 :-D
Best wishes

Jim

Cheers folks :)

Ah, iggie, you left about the time I arrived. The place has not improved, in fact it's becoming a real old dump!
And no model shops anymore :(
