Hi I am celt and from a small village in Wales, I have been a member awhile but life got in the way and I am back again, older but not wiser. I forgot how to post pictures and it was frustrating but I read the FAQ and all is well again, just got to learn how to use my ipad to take photos properly. :-D

My name is Don, I am a retired aircraft engineer, trying not to let them fall out of the sky. I've been building or trying to build models of various kinds (flying, card etc.) since I was about11yrs. without any great success I may say. At present I have a Revell H.P. Halifax Mk.III on the go plus an Airfix dambuster Lancaster.
I also purchased the Airfix Whitley, needless to say I have numerous others in my 'stash' which I will probably never start and finish.

Don

Welcome Don! Your work on the Airfix dambuster Lancaster makes me curious, as I am doubting between bying an Airfix one and a Revell kit. And because I visited one of the German dams that was hit by one of those Bouncing Bombs, last July.
Success!
Dornair

Hi there my nam e is Paul. I'm from Maastricht in the Netherlands.
I have been building model kits since I was about 7 years old. Started with buildings for my dad's train set at christmas with the whole family.Since then I build airplanes and F1 cars.
The last 32 years I have specialised in US Navy aircraft. The more obscure the better.
At the moment my collection is about 140 planes big. My stash is about 90 planes big.
I hope to meet many modelers who share my interest with the US Navy.
My other hobbies include riding my Motorbike and working for my sportsclub as ceo.
Greetings and happy building from Maastricht.

Hi Paul, welcome aboard.
Always room for US Navy aircraft, especially if obscure.
We'll be happy for you to share your work.

Hi, all- my name is Mike.

I have been building models 60 years now, but only seriously (ie: airbrush and putty) since 1971. Exclusively aircraft in God's Own Scale, 1/72, with an occasional foray into 1/48. Never started out to be a collector, but like many of you, the unbuilt inventory is huge compared to the finished models- sitting at 2,000+ kits at present. Used to be active on the IPMS contest circuit, especially in my home state of Texas, but haven't entered a competition since 1986 with a Matchbox Siskin III.

As much as I think I know about aviation and model-building, I learn something new every day from fellow modelers on sites like this one. Over the years I have accumulated quite reference library, and I take great pleasure being able to help others with modeling and historical questions; I was fortunate to be guided by some incredible modelers over the years, and I am proud to be able to 'pay it forward' as it were to others in some small way.

My preferences are 1939-45, U.S. and British mainly, and anything flown by the Finns! Very old school when it comes to paints- long live Floquil, Pactra, Modelmaster, and Humbrol!

Glad to be aboard- have enjoyed reading your comments and seeing your finished builds for a couple of years.

Mike
