Hello everyone

Welcome to the new home of the UAMF. We've put together a new forum, which has some old familiar features, and some new ones too.

Please take a look around, post a few builds and comments and generally make yourselves at home.

If you have any questions about the new forum, ask away.

Best wishes

The UAMF Admin Team

Greetings Andrew and can I be the first to say that it all looks very grand.

I hope everyone has a smooth transition to our new home and that we keep all the regulars. It is afterall the members that make this a great forum (not to detract from all the efforts of the Mods & Admins) - a great big thankyou to all the members of this forum who have helped me on my modelling odyssey to date.

I am sure we will have as much fun here. 8-)

hi everyone ,

I'm new to this forum , however I am a member of the Auroraonelist , a yahoo group who specialise in the Aurora range of kits , in saying that as a kid I also built Airfix kits of planes , figures , and ships , currently I'm restoring a few Airfix kits , but I've also restored and rebuilt / painted dozens of Aurora models , mostly figure , but also a few ships , I currently have around 300 models approximately , some built some still boxed , the kits by Airfix that I've aquired are , Joan of Arc , The Queens Scout , The Blackprince and Julius Ceasar , does any of you guys know of a site where spare parts can be obtained for these 1/12 figures ? does Airfix supply them if requested ? any way guys thanks in advance for any info ,

Regards ,

Dave , Newcastle

Hi all, I found this group several times during Google searches for interiors of various aircraft and cars, so having bored all my non kit making friends with my projects I thought I'd seek out some kindred spirits....to bore with my projects.
I do paintings as well as (and to pay for) model kits so I tend to take a bit of time to finish anything. Introductions done, once I figure out how to post pics, I'll post one of my paintings which will probably strike a chord!

I,m a retired aircraft design engineer, Been attempting to make models since I was about 10 years old, first Airfix kit was the original SPITFIRE from Woolies purchased for me by my mother who owed me 2/6d. I was into modelling in a big way when I was in digs (nothing else to do). And continued up until a few years back when I sold a load of kits. Am now attempting to get back into the swim but with difficulty, so many kits and magazines now.
Possibly finish one off some day before its too late.

Hi to all, I’ve recently had a liver transplant so I’m off work for about 6 months. I’m 60 and in my younger years built many airfix models. To pass the time my friend bought me a BF109E 1:24. This should be fun so here I go. I’ve got an electric motor and battery holder so I’m guessing its going to be stand mounted. I like the look of the yellow nose so that my paint choice. Wish me luck and any tips appreciated.
