Here is a reveal pic of my other 1/1 scale project. It's the cockpit section of an ALON Ercoupe. It's pretty much empty inside but there is certainly potential.

Do you have the rest of it? I was always intrigued by how the side windows slide up to form the canopy in those.

Nothing a bit of PE won't sort!
Best wishes

The side windows ran in channels that follow the curve of the fuselage. It's circular in cross section at that point so it's an even curve. You can see the groove in the rear canopy frame on the last shot.

Incidentally the cockpit section you can see behind the Ercoupe is that of Cessna 140 N76402 that is my other 1/1 scale project. I have the full fuselage from this but it's in a very sorry state. For those who like to know these things the reg of the Ercoupe is N3188H

Love the Cessna 140. When done, you will have a real classic and a great cross country machine.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale
Re: 1/1 scale projects.
Unfortunately my 140 will never get air under it ever again. It had a pretty bad crash some 18 years ago and the intervening years have not been kind to the remains either. also after I had bought it someone got the wrong end of the tale and thought I only wanted the cockpit section and the rear fuselage was cut off (you can guess how happy I was about that (NOT) but I got there before they disposed on the rear end and it can be repaired, but only just. I wish they had asked first. I too like the 140, a beautiful aircraft. Both these birds are 1940's vintage and it would have been a shame for them to go to scrap as would certainly have happened to the 140. I just wish I'd got there before the tail was cut off the Ercoupe too but that was before I bought it.

Re: 1/1 scale projects.
I doubt you would envy me the job I have to do on the Cessna. I have to de-rivet the front end almost completely then straighten the panels so they can be used as patterns for new ones. No fun with T6 grade ally. The new parts wil be made from T3 as it's easier to work with.

You might have to get an extra tube of filler for these builds.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

I think you are taking the Cessna GB too seriously

Re: 1/1 scale projects.
Hi folks. A little bit of progress on the Cessna today. I need to remove the seat pan and undercarriage box but first I needed to add strength to the structure. The port wing root rib had been removed but fortunately a replacement for this hard to find item came with the fuselage. After drilling out the remains of old rivets from the fuselage and the rib then straightening out the rib I put it in place, (not as easy as it sounds as part of it fits between the skin and a frame and is put in during assembly) and as suspected only a few of the holes lined up. To cut a long story (concerning 2 broken drill bits and many colourful metaphors) short the rib was finally riveted in place. I need to get a few longer shaft rivets for a few of the holes but it's in place. Over to the pictures.
All the best.

Re: 1/1 scale projects. New pics added.
I had a little bit of spare time today so decided to have a look at what's needed to remove the windscreen from the Ercoupe. I need to do this so I can clean up, de-corrode and then paint the instrument panel. In a nutshell that quick look ended with me drilling out eight rivets and de-bonding the windshield. Pics below.
