Sunderland Airshow 2016
I went to the free Sunderland Airshow on the Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. So I had wind, sun and rain but what an airshow this year. I am working through my photo's now but here are a few I have done so far.
As soon as I post them on my flickr page I will post up some more, thats if you want me too?

Wow! What an interesting diversity of flying stuff. Airshows are always a healthy, fun day.

Keep 'em coming Ian! Cracking shots and I love the Swordfish salute! (Although I'd prefer the pilot still had both hands on the stick if I was in his crew! )
Best wishes
Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Nice head on of the Swordfish - now I know how an Italian battleship felt....

Nice. What type are the white pair with the Spitfire type wings and Tomahawk like undercarriage?

Thanks guys. All of the photo's and loads more are on my flickr page at https://www.flickr.com/photos/ecirpnai/ ... 0792739851 The link takes you to my Sunderland Airshow 2016 page but if you want to see all my other photo's (around 9,000) feel free to have a look at all my other albums.
Thanks Nigel. The team are called Aerosparx flying Grob 109's which are a german design. They are one of the teams that also fly at night firing flares.Clashcityrocker wrote:Nice. What type are the white pair with the Spitfire type wings and Tomahawk like undercarriage?

Re: Sunderland Airshow 2016
I think Nigel might have been referring to G-TWST & G-JINX which are Silence SA1100 Twisters; often described as latter day Spitfires for the elliptical wingform. I think they are from Belgium....Sunray wrote:Thanks guys. Thanks mate for keeping me right. I will have to put my glasses on when I read the airshow guide next time.iggie wrote:I think Nigel might have been referring to G-TWST & G-JINX which are Silence SA1100 Twisters; often described as latter day Spitfires for the elliptical wingform.
