RIAT 2012 RAF Fairford Airshow Highlights

Post by gengriz »

Mrs T & I had a marvellous day out yesterday at RIAT "sans enfants".

We definitely chose the best day as the weather was very kind to us (after a shaky start on the drive there) and it was an excellent show all round.

Wonderland (the muddiest tent on the show), the large Airfix build-a-kit tent and Models For Sale all had some excellent modelling deals on offer (I spent all my lunch money within an hour of arriving at the airfield) and the other 2 kit vendors had a good selection too.

I have placed some of my better photos of the day on my website for anyone who fancies a look:

Smashing photos Fred thanks for sharing these.

Just wondering what is the seventh one down is, the right rear banking shot, that has a red star on the fin and 130 on the rear fuselage?

Not one I've seen before.

Thanks
Jim

Its a Yak 130. The picture is actually upside down (i.e. he was upside down and I have rotated it), hence the rather strange lighting.

Very nice photos there Fred.Looked like a very good day.
I wish RIAT would do on the day tickets as i didn't want to risk an advance ticket because of the weather.

All the best,Paul.

Great pics. And good to see an aircraft I have flown in (The Dragon Rapide).
Thanks for sharing.

All the best.
