Sunday - a DC-3/C-47 in D-Day markings tracked over Farnborough in the morning heading West. In the evening it returned, this time heading South.

Re: What flew over your house today?
This evening around 6.00 pm, a Cessna twin of some sort flew over Farnborough with its nose gear only partly retracted. Anyone know what it was and how it got on?
Re: What flew over your house today?
I've had a good weekend for flyovers. On Saturday, there were a couple of aerobatic aircraft (I don't know what types) pulling stunts complete with smoke that were visible over the rooftops. Sunday saw 2 X Pitts specials, 2 X Mustangs twice, the Air Ambulance which was pretty low. Nice to see the helicopter but I hope whoever needed it is ok. Finishing off the day, Mrs Grace and ML407 going home.

Re: What flew over your house today?
Not exactly over my house, but on the M5 near it at J9, a C47 in RAF and D Day Markings (BBMF?) heading south at quite low level. Made all the other cars slow down for a look! Great end to the day!Eric Mc wrote:Sunday - a DC-3/C-47 in D-Day markings tracked over Farnborough in the morning heading West. In the evening it returned, this time heading South.

Just had the Trooping of the Colour flypast go by. It included the Red Arrows with smoke this year!

Sentinal R1 this week while holidaying near Wroxham on the Broads in Norfolk. Also saw plenty of King Airs while pasting RAF Cranwell and a low flying Tucano at a services near Sleaford.

Re: What flew over your house today?
Yesterday....I think it was a Douglas A-26. Definitely squared off wingtips and about the right shape with two radials, of course. Looked like it may have been in Forest Service colors. It was hard to tell at the altitude it was at, about 5k feet and heading toward the setting sun. I didnt have time to get the camera since it was past me when I spotted it.
It was definitely a WWII vintage twin radial plane. We get the odd old warbirds around here every once in a while.

Second day in a row the BBMF Lancaster on transit. Yesterday it had a Hurricane flying escort with a Spit XIX playing catch up. Today it was alone. Yesterday our school fete had the SEAC Hurricane perform our annual flypast

Piper Cub in USAAF D-Day Markings heading east over Malvern Link at 1555 hours at a leisurely pace, about 15 mph! Probably heading towards Fairford, just a guess.

Re: What flew over your house today?
Very nice to see a P-51D fly over today. It's here for the air show at Sunderland over the weekend.
Not my photo.

So many models, so little time.
Re: What flew over your house today?
Well, it wasn't over my house, but while out driving on Sunday we were overflown by a B-25 with a Tomahawk in formation and a Hellcat and Zero close behind. It has hard to concentrate on the road...

Re: What flew over your house today?
I had the delicious sight of the Vulcan flying over en route to the Clacton Airshow today
Re: What flew over your house today?
Also had a few seconds to enjoy the Vulcan as she lined up for somewhere about half a mile away, Great Gransden I think.. Have also seen two Spitfires (probably the same one) buzzing here and there. Half a dozen gliders around too.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!
