Yesterday I visited a trader of used airframes (does this makes sense?) and saw this Wasp. It looked complete.
There were many more helicopters and aeroplanes all without engines.

Re: Wasp
Interesting pod on that starboard outer pylon. Looks like a stubby rocket pod. What is it?

Very timely as the LF models kit is about to be released.

Re: Wasp
Exactly that. It's a Matra F1 pod, the fatter brother to the ubiquitous Matra 155. Mostly the same design, but with a third ring of rockets bringing the total to 36.DavidWomby wrote: ↑April 1st, 2024, 12:36 pm Interesting pod on that starboard outer pylon. Better pictures of the same pod can be found in this Mirage F1 walkaround:

Re: Wasp
Thanks, Rob. I've never seen one on an RAF Jaguar before. I wonder if it's a bit of 'artistic licence' by the seller.

Re: Wasp
I think you're right on the artistic licence part, an RAF machine would probably have a pair of Matra 155 pods instead of the single F1. Then again, it's very likely the Jaguar could carry these pods, and the pod seems quite uncommon, so it's no surprise few if any pictures of it would show up. I guess I'd classify it as possible, but improbable under normal circumstances.DavidWomby wrote: ↑April 6th, 2024, 11:07 am Thanks, Rob. I've never seen one on an RAF Jaguar before.
