Open cockpit B17

Post by TobyC »

I seem to recall there was a version that had an open cockpit but I can't find anything about it. Unless of course I'm having a senior moment and getting confused with something else which is entirely possible.

I remember seeing the clear Monogram 1/48th B17 which you would have clearly seen the inside,
also someone makes a die-cast 1/48th and the canopy can come off on that version.

When I get home I will check my book "The Mighty Eighth" By Roger Freeman. There is a picture in there in connection with Project Aphrodite. Yes a real B-17 open cockpit.

Better yet: Google Images B-17 Aphrodite comes up with what you are looking for.

Good luck

Apologies. Can someone move this there please. I don't often venture down the bottom so to speak so I'd forgotten about the real part of this website.
