David Willy the museum curator explaining the restoration policy. He asked for 6 Challengers when they were retired. The MoD asked why they wanted six. David replied that they wanted one to show, one for spares and four as bargaining chips to get some other tanks they wanted :twisted:
Besides, it was going to cost £1 million each to scrap them :shock:

£1M each to scrap them? Seems a bit pricey.
Just park them on a dodgy estate in Liverpool for a few days.
