Image errors

Post by Softscience »

This is new. As of a few hours ago, I'm suddenly unable to post images.

I save them as 800x600 on postimage, like I always have.

When I try to upload, I get a message saying that the size of my image could not be determined. They post just fine as 800x600 images at other sites.

I was getting the same error message last night, but apparently it has fixed itself now. Try again, Ralph.

Yes, I had the same problem last night and spent a good while beating my digital head against it to no avail, but I did break the little lock tab off my 64gb memory card, in the lock position. Came back this morning, and it worked just fine, not the memory card.

I was wondering if this was an overseas communication thing as the site was really doggy, yet I saw no other remarks about it from in-country members.

Might have been some sort of overnight automatic upgrade that caused a glitch which has now cleared up.

Cheers, Jeff - yes, that is my figure. The Airfix 54mm Napoleonic Guardsman built for the 2007 CBK SIG display. I was trying to post that photo last night and it wouldn't allow me to do so.

I have to say I am encountering the same error message. I posted one pic, previewed, and submitted it without incident. The next wouldn't preview and gave the "size of my image could not be determined" error. I tried a different pic and had the same result. Both were under the 800x600 size.

I'll try again tomorrow to see if it clears. Thanks.

This may be a communications (hardware or software) error wherein the image size bits (and probably more) contained within the image file are getting garbled. Nothing to do but keep trying or just wait for a new day, the problem could be anywhere in the digital chain.

You may also get this error if the link to your image is incorrect, that is, it is not pointing at an allowed image type, say for example if you forgot to upload it or the path is wrong. I have been my own victim many times.

If your image is indeed too big, I believe the message clearly tells you that.

As indicated previously, there must be some interference in the line causing the problem, as everything cleared-up today. The pics which gave my trouble posted today without incident. Thanks John.
