Sending PMs

I just replied to a couple of PMs but my replies seem to be stuck in the Outbox i.e. I clicked on send and they went away but they are stilling sitting in the outbox and I assume have not actually gone anywhere...is the outbox only cleared periodically or have I erred somewhere...?
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...

Nope...and you're asking a relatively common question.
They'll stay in your Outbox until the recipient opens them.
