Re: Test post
The forum works properly in Safari and Opera on my iPod. On the UAMF site, the font sizes get messed up in Safari.
:D
Woo hoo, a geek emoticon :geek:
And an ubergeek too :ugeek:

Re: Test post
Yes, fine work Steve.
I'm on Ubuntu 10.04 using Firefox 4, and it seems all good, the fonts seem to be clearer, only thing is the fonts on the User control panel, overview are huge:
If I click into Profile they are the right size, its just the overview page.
Cheers
Jim

Re: Test post
Not an undocumented feature, or even strictly speaking a bug, just an incompatibility between this theme (macinscott 3) and the brand spanking new version of phpBB3. The theme is for phpBB3.0.2, we're running 3.0.8 and there are a few(!) lines of php and css code that need to be changed to upgrade the theme to 3.0.8 standard. As this was set up very quickly as a demo I didn't roll up my sleeves and set about it with a text editor other than to edit the colours and replace some of the imageset. Besides, Forumer appear to have their act together so it may well come to pass that that is where we shall stay.
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

The voting on UAMF would seem to suggest a move will be happening...flakmonkey wrote:Not an undocumented feature, or even strictly speaking a bug, just an incompatibility between this theme (macinscott 3) and the brand spanking new version of phpBB3. (I'm humming Landslide by Fleetwood Mac as I type this ).
This is very nice already Steve, and there are obviously only very minor points to clear up. It's already a very workable solution.
Migration of content looks like the main problem - as Forumer won't release the DB, is the only option cut and paste?
Cheers

Yes it does appear that the only way to move content would be a knife and fork job
As far as clearing up a few minor undocumented features goes, I must confess that I haven't fully looked at the code changes that need to be made and so can't say whether or not this will sort out the font size issues in some areas of the forum. It would be useful to know how widespread the issue is (everything is ok here on Safari and FF running on Mac OS X 10.6.7 and 10.5.8). It's quite possible that even after upgrading the style to phpBB3.0.8 standard the problem could remain. As with anything on the interwebz, somebody somewhere is always going to find that something is broken on their particular set-up and sometimes we have to accept that the most we as designers can do is to ensure that these users are very much in the minority. I do know, for example, that anybody running IE7x or below will not be seeing this as it is meant to appear. Fixing it for people on IE7 will break things for people on more up to date browsers so we use a Javascript fix referenced through CSS to minimize disruption on IE7 and leave it at that.

Re: Test post
The font issue is very minor, hardly worth bothering with. The site looks fine in Safari on an iPad
I'll get me knife n' glue for moving stuff!

Re: Test post
Having just updated Safari on one of the Macs I now get the same issue. We're not running FF4 yet so I don't know if it would be the case with that too.
