Re: Photo download
Most sites do not allow this because it takes up too much space on the site server. When you do it through an image site they store the image on their server. Why cant I just download a photo thats in my computer, or on my memory stick
This has happened a lot because people abused the direct upload feature.

Hi Professor Polarbear
Sorry its taken a while to reply.
Thank you for your help, when I was on a R/C forum, you just did a search, found the photo, resized it, then downloaded it. What I have noticed, on this forum, some Members use a click on this, to get photo, and others have the photo strait in their post.
Regards. tonp

Re: Photo download
Usually, if it's your own photo, you post it so that it shows up directly. If it's someone else's photo which is on the Internet, then you post a link.

Re: Photo download
Hi tonp,
We do not offer online storage as part of UAMF, but you can store photos elsewhere and then display them directly using the "img" tags.
If you note our Forum Rules on copyright and stuff posted elsewhere, we ask that you use a link to that photo (or article or whatever) rather than displaying it directly, both as a courtesy to the hosting site and to avoid copyright issues.
That pretty much accounts for the two differing usages you see here.
