I wondered if we could run another little section here about our 5 'Must Have Models.' This was all brought about by the Small Talk Topic on Stash Size. Big is Beautiful, but it can have it's down side. Theoretically  .

Maybe some of us are wanting to reduce our stash and may have one of your 'Must Have Models.' I'd feel a lot better selling to one of us modellers.

Best keep it to a maximum of your Top Five as it could get rather onerous trawling through our ongoing Wish Lists.

I'll keep my list very short :

An early Airfix HMS Cossack with the base plate. First ship release. Even the base plate alone would be OK. ( Not quite right, I know, but I've modified the HMS Victory stand for now.)

An Airfix OO/HO Mogul Loco.

An Airfix or Kitmaster OO/HO Schools Class Loco. ( I've since picked up three old and painted Kitmaster kits, the Battle of Britain Class, a Schools Class and a Stirling Single. I'm hoping that I can get the paint off. Additionally, I have also got an 'As new' Kitmaster French Mountain Railway Locomotive. This is a superb model and shows how neat and sharp the tools were back then. The modern plastics don't seem to carry the sharp precision of the older, harder plastics. )

The Airfix 1907 Lanchester Landaulette.

Looking good for me, but still need the old HMS Cossack. Also looking for those old FROG "Fit the box" kits of Aircraft.

must admit i dont have any grail kits any more

i had 2, got one and dont want the other any more

first was the 1/24 car transporter trailer by revell....managed to pick one up for @30 quid
did want the Tom Daniels designed 1/24 Dragon Wagon a.k.a. Circus Wagon which Revell reissued last year but the reason i wanted it is no longer valid

A fair idea, Chuck.
You know you only listed 4!

I have more, Bruce, but they are now going to be rare as hen's teeth and more expensive per gram than printer ink.

My choice is based on models that I had years ago and have 'lost' and one that I saw my cousin building. The latter was another little pointer for me in the road to me becoming a modeller. John was painting the Lanchester in Red and Black and doing a very neat job. I thought 'I can do that' and promptly bought another model to build. I think it was a Rolls Royce though, same idea though.

I only have one grail kit now (Because I got the Heller EC121)
It's the old Aurora Boeing 737 in 1/72 scale, I saw one at the Huddersfield show and at £50 it was WAY over priced.

All the best.

Apart from real rarities most kits can be got at a price. The reason most of us don't have our Grail kits is because either we can't afford the price or just unwilling to spend that much on a kit when the loft is stuffed full.

A couple of mine are:

Pyro 1/32 Bugatti Atalante

As this was one of their last car kits it wasn't in production for long and they don't crop up very often especially outside of the US. I've seen a couple go in the UK for £25, not exorbitant but I'd rather get it for a lot less.

Monogram 1/32 Porsche 904 GTS

Again not seen in the UK and has collectors appeal. I believe this was also available in slot form.

Airfix 54mm 95th Rifleman

Not really a grail kit but just something I'm after. This one isn't particularly rare but go for £10 - though I missed one that went for £4 a few weeks ago. They pop up regularly enough that I should get one eventually. As my brother was made about Sharp I've thought I'd build it for him.

Just got one sans instructions for £3.23! postage is a little steep mind.

I have recently been able to acquire several that have been on my list for years including the 1/72nd FineMolds Millennium Falcon and several of the Tom Daniel's Monogram kits.

However, I still have a few I am looking for.
Revell 1/72nd F-101B Voodoo
Aurora Tucumcari Hydrofoil
Revell/Monogram 1/72nd Starfury Mk 1 (for less than they have been going for on evilbay)
1/72nd Warhammer Battlemech (old sci fi mech that was released as a Tomahawk. There is a new, expensive kit out I am watching...)
I also would be interested in the 1/72nd Aurora Boeing 737 and Douglas DC-9 kits that were made but would need 2 of the DC-9s so I could stretch it and have a C-9 Nightingale and would do the 737 as a T-43.

I'm struggling to identify any grail kits at the moment - I'm off overseas again soon and that's normally when some extra domestic tolerance is granted re model acquisitions but I'm having problems finsing anything available only that makes me go "yeah, baby, I'll have you..."
