- Yes I know rebell.com has one at 295SEK, but with the silly toll fees here this kit will be costing me a fortune!

Airfix/Glencoe SS France/Norway
- I know you can get the 1/450 Glencoe at Evilbay, but steep prices, also with the shipping. And I really want the old 1/600 Airfix.

There is only one on the list at present as I've managed to aquire all the others, its not a full kit either but a conversion set:

Aeroclub's 1/72 Skyraider AEW.1 conversion kit

And it goes for silly money whenever one come up for sale :frown: There is an alternative from RVHP but that is also OOP and has the same silly pricetag problem. This is the last aircraft for the Ark Royal project and the hardest to get ones hands on.

Regards

Tom

Just went back and looked at my list and I have acquired 3 of the 5.

Now if I could find a 72nd Fokker G 1.

Hmmm...

Airfix 1/24 Hurricane (first or second issue)

Academy "Science Museum"? (1980s). I think about 12 mini kits in the one box (moulds originally done by the 60s Australian cereal toy manufacturer R&L, then sold by Aurora as 'Snap-A-Roos' in the 70s). I have the aircraft and others - after the space kits in particular.

Marusan 1/?? Vought Corsair - first kit I ever built at age 6. Scale somewhere between 1/72 and 1/100 (it was a long time ago...).

Airfix 1/76 Wild West Fort with US Cavalry, Indians and Wagon Train. Christmas present about 1966-67.

Frog 1/72 Dewoitine 520C - not hard to get I know, but holds memories as the only kit left whenever Nana was willing to buy me a kit when we went to Woolworths! I built several...

Not up for a vacuform unfortunately.

Think MPM or someone like them did one a few years ago.

Tom, C Scale also did a Skyraider AEW.1 conversion, this is not as popular as the vac form spine and radome are made from the same floppy, thin clear material that forms the canopy but the white metal parts are great. I got round this problem by using the clear parts as moulds to form new parts made from car filler. My donor kit was the Revell A-1E/AD-5 with an Airfix upper fuselage/fin. The C Scale kit also does not come up very often but they do not reach the same sort of prices as the Aeroclub conversion.

You are correct. CMK also did one, in resin.
The MPM shows up occasionally on fleabay.

Their aren't meny kits I would class a grail kits but there are some I wish I had bought more of when they were available, for example the Frog DH101 and Scimitar and the Italari whirlwind helicopters or any of the Skybirds 86 kits.

As luck would have it, I just won a Skybirds 86 Sea Hornet for under £12, so strike one grail kit.

Splash, Im guessing that was a Sea Hornet F.20? ;-) from a seller who also had an NF.21 for sale at the same time. If so its good to know that both those Skybirds kits have come back to Somerset

Unbelievably a forum that covers the whole planet and two members who live within five miles of each other both bid on the same rare kits and both win one each at an outstanding price

I'm so glad I stuck to my max budget and did not get into a bidding war.

Regards Splash

I have the Glencoe France still in shrinkwrap that I found whilst on a trip to Victorian Hobby Centre in Melbourne a few years ago.

It is sitting in the stash next to the Gunze Sangyo QE II

Thought I had posted this already. I no longer have any 'grail' kits. I picked up the 1/72 Boeing 737 at Telford for £15 last year.

All the best.
