Parafilm M

Post by gomergizmo »

Does anyone here use Parafilm M? From what I understand it is great for masking canopies. Have ordered some from China. Any tips or tricks?

I have used it.

Its funny stuff and needs practice to get it to work. I get the type that is on a roll or strip about 2 inches wide, when you take the backing paper off it its not sticky at all, so you have to cut a couple of inches off, then grab the edges of the film between your thumbs and fingers and pull the opposite sides away from each other until its very thin and transparent, you can then place this over what you want to mask rub it down and with a sharp blade trim off what you don't need.

It just needs lots of practice.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.
