Does anyone use five-sided cutting broaches? When and how?

Hi
I'm looking for some tool to 'cut' gun troughs on the side of the fuselage.
Yes I'm aware that a very hot end of paper clip will achieve the same result in creating a groove, but smthng about, not what you do, but the way that you do it?!
