Wanted to bounce this off you guys! Obviously if i have filling to do i have filing and sanding to do; wot will get the model all dusty and fingerprinty! Not good.
Can i wipe my model down with a bit of kitchen roll, or a soft cloth (such as a micro-fibre) with Meths on it? will it affect the paint in any way? if this isnt suitable; wot can i use to wipe down before i start painting it? At the moment i wipe down with a soft cloth and water but if i am using ointments for my skin, the fingerprints may be greasy.

I have used IPA (not the beer) successfully but be careful with any liquid if you have use Perfect Plastic Putty.

i use pre paint prep wipes from halfords, they come in a pack of 5 and last quite a while.

IPA, whitespirit, soapy water will all do the job. Just be aware of any solvent based fillers that might be affected by other solvents.

What about a tack cloth? Should be available from an auto spares store.

Have you considered Spec wipes? They contain Isopropyl alcohol which will shift any greasy finger prints, alternatively what about wearing a latex disposable glove - I use them when handling my models during airbrushing. Dust is readily removed with a tack cloth, which will last forever in the modelling scenario.
