Hi there,
I´m looking for a thinner for my Humbrol acrylics. For don´t-know-what reasons, Humbrol´s acrylic thinner is hard to get in Germany, but the acrylic colour range isn´t, you get them "anywhere".
There are some acrylics I want to thin down a bit, when I used Revell´s thinner, colour became flaky....
I wonder: is it possible to use Xtracrylix thinner for Humbrol, maybe?

I use Tamiya X-20A for all my acrylics, no problems to date
Best wishes

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I've tried plain water before but found that it can pull back if brushed without a primer...... ok so I should prime and not be lazy, but with Tamiya thinners I don't get the same problemfredk wrote:I just use plain water; no problems with that at all

Depends on how much thinnning; a lot and it can pool, up to about 50% I've not had that problem, but then I add a few drops of washing-up liquid in too on the greater thinning. For just a small amount of thinning, about 10%, just plain water

Thanks for answering, in a similar topic someone mentioned distilled water, which I´m goin to try :-)
