I have been asking about a three leg building stand that I saw on this web site but no one could tell me where I could get one.
So I put a couple of my little grey cells to work [Just a couple, I needed the other two; walking talking etc.]. The answer was a small camera tripod with flexible legs. A quick look on E-Bay came up with a perfect unit for £1:49 with free P&P [I got two, money no object] they arrived a couple of days later. At the end of each leg was a hard plastic ball. I turned the tripod upside down and attached it to a base using the threaded screw that would attach it to the camera. Now I had a building stand that supported my model in the wheel wells, great for painting / spraying. I noted that the hard plastic ball feet could mark the paint finish so I replaced them with pencil top rubbers [ erasers to our friends across the pond ] That gives a soft wedge shape that fits better in the wheel wells or a soft three point stand on which to place the model. Try it, a great little unit for less than the price of a tube of filler.
