Re: please help!!!
Mr Muscle oven cleaner does the job.
Put the model in a bag. Add the Mr Muscle. Seal tightly. Leave overnight.

Re: please help!!!
Depends on your definition of "safe". The method Ian described will certainly get rid of the paint..all of the paint. If there's any paint that should stay on, for example on the inside, or any decals, you may want to consider other options.BearPoole wrote:hi ya. ive just got the 1:500 U.S.S Enterprise into Darkness model by Revell and i started painting it last night but im not happy with it. i think there was something wrong with one of the paints i mixed. is there any safe way to strip the paint and start again??

Re: please help!!!
I checked on it this morning before leaving for work and there was no change. I used some oven cleaner that the mrs had hanging around. Hopefully it will be different when i get home!

Re: please help!!!
Maybe not. A lot of the oven cleaners and Fairy Power Spray have changed and they no longer strip paint.
Try the unscented FPS, or neat Dettol, but not any other disinfectant - they don't work.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Caustic soda. Cheap as chips, does the job, can be used to dispose of bodies too.
Allegedly.

Re: please help!!!
You're right. It didn't work. It's only a coat of primer so it's not terrible but i would rather prime it after the model has been filled and sanded.fredk wrote:Maybe not. A lot of the oven cleaners and Fairy Power Spray have changed and they no longer strip paint.
