It's quite thin so not suited for large gap filling, but under normal circumstances it drys quite quickly and is easy to sand. I've used it quite a bit with no problems, except just recently when trying to use it to fill large gaps to construct Neptune tip tanks, where it's refused to set and cracked up. But that's my fault for trying to use it to fill large gaps probably best filled with Milliput.

id agree with all that......i quite like it actually, works easy as long as it dosnt have to fill deep or wide cavities, but then i might be weird cos i really dont like Squadron stuff of any kind

The problem I've found with Squadron putty, particularly the Green Stuff, is that it seems to have a short shelf life once opened and even though the cap is kept tightly on, mine seems to dry out in the tube slowly and I need to spend a lot of time digging crusted Green Stuff out of the mouth of the tube.

My LMS had run out of Plasto today as I wanted to re-stock, but had Humbrol model filler instead, which seems about he same consistency as Plasto.

I picked up some Plasto at the start of the year and have found it is very good in small amounts, which is what I wanted it for. The only thing I found is that the solvent a clear gel like stuff and the filler compound separates. So I stick a cocktail stick in and give is a stir.

You can get it from some UK online modelling shops, although I've not seen it in any of my Local Model Shops.

milliput is still king in my book but sometimes you need a quick fix

Gel cyano and accelerator! Micro balloons and thin cyano also works well.

I'm now a big fan of the Filla Glue products, they're excellent.

Gave up on tube fillers long ago, got fed up with crumbly, crackly filling and stuff setting in the tube the day after you open it.

Plasto is ok and sets hard enough to take rescribing if you're careful. Good old ordinary Humbrol filler is a lot more decent than most give credit for, and Mr. White Putty is also good but does take a very long time to harden fully.

That was a problem that blighted a batch of Humbrol filler several years ago. As you say, a cocktail stick, will recombine it but you shouldn't have to do that

Nowadays I only use Davids Isopon car body filler,it can be sanded within 15 minutes,never cracks or gives hassle.I bought a 1lb tin a couple of years ago and it is still going strong,but you can also get it in smaller tubes.

Unfortunately, over time it dries out in the tube and is quite expensive.
