Went into LMS for simple gloss red only to be confronted with Revell firery red 31 and Revell Ferrari red 34.
I don't think the aerobatic display team has changed its red.
Thanks for your help

The red has changed. From a deep 'post office' red on the Gnats to a slightly more orangey red on the Hawks.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

According to Airfix's Red Arrows 50th Display Season Gift Set 1:48 scale you are correct!
Two acrylic colours, 19 and 238 presumably both for respective Gnat and Hawk. Only which?
And how does it convert to enamel for the Hawk?

Re: Red Arrows red. Which gloss enamel?
Humbrol 19 for the Gnat, 238 for the Hawk. Both 19 and 238 are available in enamel and spray can as well as acrylics. I know as I've got all three of each.
Revell 31 is close to Humbrol 19 and the mostly recommended match.
I haven't used the other Revell reds to say which might be close to H.238
In Humbrol the Ferrari red is not just as deep and pure as 19, so it might be the same with Revell.

238 is what Humbrol call Arrow Red, meant for the Red Arrows' Hawks
