Florist's wire.. any hints?

Post by Arcwelder »

I've seen some excellent biplane results where the rigging medium was florist's wire. Saw some in a local art supply shop (0.5mm so only really useful for 1/32 and up) for €1.50 for an enormous amount, so bought it on a whim. Has anybody actually used the stuff and do they have any guidance as to its usage? Got a few 1/28 builds in the pipeline..
Is this your sanderling?.

I don't use it for rigging but I do find it most useful on the modelling bench. Its very malleable. I made some 1/32 horse shoes from it, used it for locating/aligning pins on butt joints, made new undercarriage legs.
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

I use it to make trees :ha:
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.
