Pilots...
Pilot figures, I have - a few - shall we say but am constantly frustrated when I go to the spares box to get one and find it is only partially painted and not finished so today I thought I would make a start on tackling this mammoth task feet first by painting all of their boots. I will then move on to faces and hands then jackets and trousers and finish off with Mae West's where appropriate and then harnesses and masks also if appropriate.
The 1/32 and 1/24 contingent who will obviously require a bit more effort to make them look acceptable than some of their smaller brethren.
Cheers
Al.

Re: Pilots...
Good grief! That's quite a collection of spare aircrew bods!
Best wishes

Re: Pilots...
That´s a whole plethora of pilots, possibly from all decades in aviation history. Also my personal hell. This will require patience of a Saint!

Airfix pilot
I always liked the 1960s Airfix WW2 RAF pilot. He appeared in dozens of 1/72 Airfix kits and was actually pretty decent.
He might be a little stiffly British, but I find he can be loosened up a bit by simply turning his head.
He makes a convincing USN gunner...
...and has even been known to pass himself off as a Swede!

I also like the old IMC MiG-21 pilot.
He came in two poses, regular and "Oh SHIT!"

The pilot is supposed to be punching out of a damaged aircraft using the old style "curtain" over-the-face ejection handles:Stuart wrote: ↑January 23rd, 2024, 5:56 pmThat's hilarious! The kit even came with optional battle damaged parts.
Very cool!
