best acrylic for a red arrow?

Post by wbk666 »

In airfixs instructions they suggest mixing paints.
I'd prefer not to do this so does anyone have any suggestions for a single acrylic paint that would work?

I haven't been in a stockist for a while so I don't know if it's in the High Street yet, but it seems to be available from the Airfix web site -- it's in stock and you can put it in your basket. I haven't tried buying any to the point of paying and getting it delivered, mind...

bestest,
M.

That's good news. At the moment I think Hu Signal Red is the best Arrows colour, which is the same as Signal Red, unfortunately though it has a matt finish. Hannants' Xtracrylix do a Red Arrows red but I and others think it is too orange.

I use Citadel Blood Red when I built my Red Arrow Gnat and was quite happy with the colour.

Tamiya Gloss Red in the bottle si good to work with. But it may be a little to bright from photos I have seen.
