As the title says, really.
In theory, if you buy a kit from Airfix, you should be able to get hold of the necessary Humbrol paints to get it the 'proper' colours. If you buy a Revell kit, you know that you're going to have to either start mixing paints, or go onto a paint Conversion chart somewhere..
So which kit manufacturers out there, old and new, actually offer colour/paint callouts in Humbrol?
I know of the following;
Accurate Miniatures
Airfix
AModel
Attack
AZ Model
Eastern Express
Heller (particularly newer boxings).
Humbrol
ICM
Lift Here
Matchbox
Mirage
Roden
UM
Wingnut Wings
Some, such as CMR and MPM, Azur, etc., will quote FS, BS or RLM/RLA...and of those that do speak Humbrol, some do so with a peculiar dialect. Attack, for example, had 3 different Humbrol paints for 'sand'.

Bruce

I used to worry over that but because I use a mix of paint types according to project on the go rather than callouts I just use an online conversion chart for paint types I printed off t'interwebby

I use an interwbby download cross reference chart to get to Humbrol numbers.
BEEN A WHILE
Re: So which kit manufacturers speak Humbrol?
Which is all well and spiffingly good if the cross-reference charts are accurate and they are not.
Urban's in particular is in dire need of an overhaul, as it is well out of date with Humbrol paints, for example.
