Masking
How long does paint need to "cure" before you can apply Tamiya masking tape, or Maskol, safely? I recently top-coated my Airfix Hurricane and let the paint (Life Color) cure for three days...applied the tape and Maskol, and then darn stuff lifted the paint! Any ideas?

Re: Masking
Try a thin coat of varnish before masking may well help.
Enjoyment over accuracy. That's my motto
Re: Masking
Did you use primer? Any acrylic paint risks lifting if you put it on bare plastic, however long you leave it to dry... If you did use primer I can't explain it, because all my water based acrylics (Tamiya, Vallejo, Citadel) are thoroughly dry after an hour or so in the airing cupboard...)

Thanks guys...yes, I always prime,Matt...in some cases,2-3 times after "correcting" any botches....it's not actually the tape that caused the probs but that Maskol stuff. Yes,Tony C, I might try the varnish

Re: Masking
I use masking tape for the edges and then fill in with post-it notes. If it's the maskol causing the trouble, stop using it.
