So here´s the list to choose from, please.

Post by Crashpilot »

So by now I found the courage to show you my plastic babies, that are crying out to be finished:

This is the list, of which you, dear uamfies, can choose from:

MB Gloster Gladiator 1:72 (not on the pic, cant find it right now)
Heller Peugeot 203 1:43 it´s a car, something without wings! (where is it hanging out right now?not on pic)
MB MiG-21 1:72
Heller Caravelle 1:250 (maybe?)
Frog Spitfire Mk I 1:72
Airfix Spitfire Mk Ia, "changed" to Mk Va 1:72
Airfix Mustang B/C 1:72
Hobby Boss Mustang B/C 1:72
Mistercraft, ex-Intech Mustang B/C 1:72
Italeri Mustang A 1:72
(obviously I like Mustangs)
MB P-40N Warhawk 1:72
Revell MiG-29 1:144
Revell F-104 Starfighter 1:144
Mistercraft ex-ZTS Plastyk Il-2M Sturmovik 1:72
Heller P-40E Warhawk 1:72

How do we make a poll, then?
But, I have some conditions:
There can only ONE kit be chosen to built, don´t tell me to build them all at once! :ha:
And I´d like to get 8 weeks to finish that one chosen kit.
....and the time schedule can´t start before April (I´m still busy with my Heller D-Mustang rite now).

 (there´s even more unfinished winged thingies hidden in my cave, but I will not show ye (chuckle, chuckle) )
Anyone has an idea, how I should organize the polling?
Yours,
Crashpilot

Caravelle for me (or anything with masking tape on; that's not going to want to come off after so long I suspect!)
Best wishes

By the way: there´s no order in that list, meaning, the ones I "fear" most in the end, or something.

[quote]giving some background on what it is that's actually stopped your otherwise speedy modelling progress. [quote]

They are all not so difficult to finish, it´s only that I used to enjoy more to start a new kit, instead of finishing a started one.
The Gladiator hasn´t disappeared, it´s hiding in a box that´s sitting in the stash pile.
I already rigged before, I´m not so shy of it anymore.

Thank you for reminding me, another ride on the learning curve! And i already did the Sky undersides....maybe I can still save the paint, cause I stuck the tape to bluetac, which I use as "demarcation line".
Oh, well, as long as the unfinished ones don´t fall "SLAM!" to the ground, they don´t end in the bin.

When it comes to organizing the poll:
What about: til midnight GMT (or other time scheme?) of March, 31, this year, people can throw in their vote, the one that gets most votes wins, if there are several with same amount of votes, then there´s a run-off ballot.
What about that?

Found the glad Gladiator.
It was hiding under my bed, is he scared, or what?

So, he´s definitely participating in the poll!

Well that Gladiator does look as though it's nearing the finish line, so it too is a good contender.

Up to now there are:
2 votes for Caravelle and Gladiator (each), 1 for Mustang.
Nothing speaks against extending the time for votes, I haven´t finished my Heller-´Stang yet (Microsol is still in the mail.... ). My pace of modelling will have to slow down for a while, anyway, too much work to do right now :-| .

If its not too late to vote I would choose the MIG 21. A fine old kit and lets face it, one cool looking aircraft.

All the best.

I don´t mind should people still throw in their votes! Makes sense to extend the deadline, since I haven´t finished
my ongoing build, anyway.
Caravelle and Gladiator still in the lead, though.
"One cool looking aircraft": yes, I go along with that.
That unmistakable Delta design with the extra elevators looks so special!
The 3rd and 4th generation -21s look a little humpback-style (specially the SMT!), but I still like ´em very much!
My favourites, though, are the second generation -PFs, w/o anything under their belly,
they even look elegant IMO:

 Good question! I´m someone that don´t like to finish things, I like to start doing things, but finishing....
But the virtual public here helps me a lot to finish kits. It makes a difference, when you read "hey, any progress to
share?"
The buddies from my modelling club I only see once a month for a 3 hour "kitting together"-evening.
In 3 hours you don´t make much advance. Once (and very soon twice) a year we do a "Modelling-together-weekend"
from Saturday morning 10 am till Sunday 6 pm, which became so popular that´ll be repeated in autumn.
My avatar picture comes from one of those weekends.
I´m one that depends quite a bit on doing stuff within a group of people, to get going ;-)
