Well, after my yet-another inauspicious non-finish in a GB, this time the Bug Hunt (see the link above for how we got this far) I am quite determined to further progress the old Chocolate Moth...

After all the drama about messing up the lower wing and needing to get another printed out, I was fossicking around in the study tonight - looking for something totally different, of course - when I stumbled across an envelope full of 1/48 Chocolate Moth parts from a previous attempt at it, probably not longer after I got it, probably around 2008...they'be bin hidden away for a while!

So I have my spare wing pieces and am slowly progressing the build...

[more to follow]

A slow steady night tonight, in front of the fire with the dogs...watching Coro followed by Captain Blood while cutting out small parts from the ChocMoth and colouring the edges with my trusty set of Faber-Castell water-colour pencils...

More progress tonight, slow progress but progress none the less...cut off the tail surfaces and edge-coloured them, also assembled the prop but made a bit of a botch-up of it some may have to call in the reserve one...

...then some time trying to figure out how the lower forward fuselage works as the supplied lower fuselage is about one and a half cm too short and the part I thought was meant to go there just isn't big enough in any dimension...

Nice to see that this is still ongoing. I'm also one for slooooow builds and failed GB's, but what the hell. Hopefully you'll get this finished.

Just chippin' away, Shaun...the good news is that once I get this one done, I should be able to complete the other two I have fairly quickly...which reminds me that I need to find some right-sized rubber washers to use as tyres...

That specific one is here: http://www.ecardmodels.com/index.php/1- ... olate.html; The broader range in 1/72 and 1/48 is here: http://www.ecardmodels.com/index.php/ca ... ive+studio; Each scale will easily upsize to the next popular aircraft modelling scale e.g. 1/72 to 1/48, 1/48 to 1/32 if you print @ 150%...
