Tim's Hurricane trio

Post by TimJ »

This year I've decided that I need to finish some of my unfinished builds, which number almost 170. As I'm building a Revell Hurricane IIc for the Wild Weather GB I thought I'd make a start with these three.

I bought and started these when they first came out in 1999 but for some reason didn't get any further than a bit of interior painting and some wing assembly. Yesterday I managed to get the ccockpit interiors finished and assembled the wings.

The wings on the IIbs have had the holes opened up so that one will be carrying bombs and the other one tanks to add some variety.

Some more work on the Hurris today. The instrument panel decals have been applied (a very good fit they were too) and the fuselages have been closed up.

I don't know why I didn't finish these when I first started them as the fit of parts is great. It shouldn't take long to get them finished at this rate.

Quite the production line you have going there.
I really like those Revell kits, I built a couple when they came out so I will watch with interest.

The Revell kit is certainly a nice one. The only bad feature is the fabric effect, but a touch of sanding gets rid of the badly marked upper fuselage ribs and under a coat of paint and some decals, it just goes away.
So many models, so little time.

Question? Why have you got four ip's when you only have three hurricanes?

Nice builds anyway - I built the Airfix last december so it'll be nice to see how this one compares...
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...
