I'm useless at masking windows - so what did you use for the side windows? And when it comes to canopies I never seem to be able to get the tap cut to the right size especially in those WW2 canopies you find on types with lots of panels in the glass house. Any help gratefully received

Here is what I've finally learned after ages of struggle trying to make the tape pieces fit the canopy....
I peel off some tape and stick it to my worktop, usually 3 or 4 inches long. Then I take a steel ruler and a hobby knife with a sharp blade and I cut thin strips of tape lenghtwise. Usually I cut the strips no wider than 1/16th of an inch. Then I'll peel up a strip and go to the inside edges of the frames and trim the end to end at the frame end THEN I can just fill in the rest of it with bigger bits of tape. Its so much easier than trying to make the tape fit within the frames in one piece. OR you can just put your tape strips on either side of your frames, burnish the tape edges down, and paint the frames with a brush.
For the side windows I used Micro Mask, a thick liquid mask that can be peeled off after painting.
I hope that helps!

Dirk, thanks....I am thinking my Academy B-17c in the same basic CC scheme would look pretty cool.

Dave,

Thanks for your reply regarding masking - a great help thanks!

Now I'll give it a go on the Airfix Harvard I have built.

As you can see the canopy put in place looks a bit odd
