Ok ok....I'll try to finish my Hudson.

Call it OCD or what you like, but I do bring a model or two when the wife, the dog, and I take the motorhome out camping. I figure that I can at least get most of the assemblies put together and brush paint the interiors, landing gear, engines, etc. in between grilling, drinking beer and watching dolphins playing....and surf fishing, of course.
Here is what it looks like right now. Needless to say the decals are 100% useless which means I will likely steal the decals from the Hudson kit I bought in England while on vacation there in 2003:

Yes I know, a bit blurry but so was I when taking them last night. So, since I'm tiring of gloss sea blue kits, I'll be working on this even though I want to start the new Airfix Spitfire Mk1 (with the huge wood prop and flat canopy) but I'll wait. Maybe.

If you get stuck on decals, let me know. I may have spares or can make them up from generics.

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Alright....I said i would work on my AF Hudson, so I went in and applied some Tamiya putty and attached the lower nose window with that clear gel I spoke of in another post. Plus, I'm using Ambroid liquid mask on the small windows and I'll mask the somewhat ill fitting canopy later. Also. the engine cowls, complete with fair looking molded in engines, seem to not fit onto the wing nacelles. Well, its an old Airfix kit and these minor things are to be expected and not difficult to overcome...here are a few pics:

This unfinished kit suddenly landed on my Hudson thread....
She needed her green paint so I gave her some, even though it isnt quite right. Anyway, I'll finish this little gem along with that monster of an Airfix Hudson!

How come your Hudson has morphed in to a Spitfire? I was enjoying the Hudson build

Still working on the Hudson, but I have other kits in work, too. The mood struck me to squirt some green on the Spit. Actually, I've decided to go with the white / sea camo scheme on that Hudson....progress pics soon....while I am finishing up a couple of other kits as well.

More progress on the Hudson, which is slowly coming along. I have the first light spray of white. I also had to pop out the two left lower windows that werent seated properly and re-install them. I used Ambroid liquid mask for all of the small windows, and i'm sure I'll torture myself some more with my attempts at masking the bigger clear bits. Also I am appaled at the terrible fit of the lower engine cowl / nacelle oil cooler scoops....this too will be addressed...more to come.

That Hudson is coming together rather well.

I love the Spitfire too. Is it the old Kopro kit?

More progress, and not looking too bad. It should start moving faster now but I still have to mask the turret :frown: although the canopy seems to have come out ok...

Great work on an old kit - I love the camo over white.

Thanks guys. I have a feeling the Hudson will be fairly nice looking, but I also see lots of touch up looming. We'll see!
