Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.1

Post by Brickie »

A really nice kit to build, this one - got one that had been "slightly started" at Huddersfield last year for a tenner. I'm looking forward to see how the Airfix one compares.

Nice.
I'm about to start one, which I also picked up cheap cos it was part [badly] started. [just 3 parts of the cockpit]
Did you use the spare white circle decals under your roundels?
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Yes, figured they'd given me them for a reason.

I did find it difficult to settle the decals down over the lumps and bumps on the underside of the wings so watch out for that.

Outstanding work Brickie. Really subtle weathering.

Cheers. Actually, I didn't think I'd done that much to it weathering-wise - a quick go over with a cotton-bud and some pastel shavings for the gun smoke and just aft of the exhausts and that was it.

Less is definitely more when it comes to weathering I think.
