The Bridges of Toko-Ri

Post by Chuck E »

I found an old AMT Panther a while back and knocked it together. I think it was missing it's decals, so I got these off EBAY.
They are from a Panther used in the 1955 film, The Bridges at Toko-Ri. The decals even have the Lt Brubaker name for the cockpit. What it didn't have was the Golden Dragons from the nose, so I'll need to paint these. I finally got some blue paint onto the model last year and decided to finally get it done.
The aluminium is painted on. It's the Citadel Mithril silver. A single coat followed very quickly with a thinned wash of the same colour gives it a nice sheen. I also need two 'B's for the fin as the ones I had were a bit too big for the job. I'll have some hiding in a box somewhere.

I've just found a few film photos and the fin tip is white, as are the tips of the horizontal tail. A bit more stenciling is also there.
So many models, so little time.
