1/72 Revell BAE Systems Hawk T.1

Post by IronMan129 »

Well its been a while since my last build post.
My next project is abit of a fantasy bird.
Last year I chose to start coming up with a new design for a display Hawk T.1 after it ended back in 2012 and so I built a 2013 Hawk T.1 Display Aircraft:

Now its time for the 2014 version.
My idea came when I saw someone offering a set of decals for the Hawk T.2 BAE Demonstrator.
Here are a couple of photos from google to show the livery.

So my idea is to apply these to a Revell Hawk T.1 that I bought back in 2012 and that has been half finished for a number of months:

I do have the Benevolant Fund belly roundel but its gonna take cutting them appart to allow the gear to be extended.
Hopefully allong with my lanc she will be finished tomorrow.

Thanks mate im rather impressed with her too.
Shes sat on a shelf at the moment next to a 100sqn sister.
Thanks for those links, I think il still use the decals as im not as good at masking as I am at putting decals on but what il do is maybe paint over the decals with a brush to make the black abit more solid.
Thanks again mate and because u like here heres a few more photos:

Extremely nice!!, the Hawk in the WWII style scheme gave me the idea of a strange what-if....
September 1940, Hawk Mk.I's defend London against Messerschmidt Alpha Jet-E's.. Hmm.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Very nice, the Spit and the Hawk look great togehter.

Is that camo'd Tornado based on a real scheme or is it a whiffer?

I see the PM Spitfire in the background, my very sincere condolences....

A couple of our kids have been reducing my stash over the last couple of days, one did the Airfix VB, one found a PM VB tropical, wow first time I've had a real look at it, crikey...

Cheers

Thanks mate.

Its kind of a hybrid, the tail is from the real Tonkas and iv added the Lanc Camo to the body.

Yeah she was a challenge but worth it, I had two at £1 each and both are built, not too bad il post photos later.
