Airfix Seafire FR17

Post by Chuck E »

I suppose that I'd better finish this one now. Colours are all Xtracolour enamel over Halfords Primer.

This is a very nice kit and I will be getting another to build the 3 versions.

Here are the follow up shots showing completion.
Fuselage and other assemblies complete.

The operation that looked tricky wend very well. A spot of superglue works wonders.

This has been a very easy build. There were some issues with the flaps looking pitted and malformed, but Airfix supplied a set of replacements very quickly.
It goes together without a hitch and the parts are nicely tooled. The optional parts needed to vary the wings up / wheels down options are great. New wheels, wings and all the trimmings. Even two rear canopies to allow open and closed options. I may now add some light washes.
So many models, so little time.

Another good one, do you have ownership in a Sky (color) paint company ?

It's my model and I'll do what I want with it.

Not quite, John, but I shall have to be dropping Hannants a line to get some more very soon. I hope the next tins are as good as the last.

I have another Wyvern, three Seafires, a Seahawk and, hopefully, a brand new Sea Hornet and Attacker from Trumpeter to do.

I think that this kit must go down along with the Airfix Spitfire XII as being super builds.
So many models, so little time.

Just caught up with this build Chuck & I am very impressed. It's not a kit I have built but I will keep my eyes open for one now.

Excellent Seafire.
