This little beauty is up next. One of the compensations of being laid up is that I'm getting to grips with my backlog.
When looking for something else I found the parts to complete this kit. They were in a Revell CR42 box !!!

This is very near the top of my vacform stash to partner my Argosy, so I'm looking forward to see how this goes

Well, I managed to get the metal work done. The nose undercarriage assembly fell to bits and one of the main undercarriage broke off too. I made new parts and then pinned the leg. The drill snapped when withdrawing it. It must have clogged. I managed to get around it and just assembled the whole thing. I'll paint it all in situ. I'll give it a coat of paint. I has some engine fronts from Aeroclub and have used these. I cut off the original blank fronts and added some platicard rings to stiffen the vacformed nacelles. The new parts dropped straight on. They look better than the photo . . . honest.

This is coming along quite well now. Ready for some paint.

Primer plus a splash of white and a coat of mid stone. I took ages to make up my mind over the scheme, but this one finally won.

A quick coat of Citadel Chaos Black. Lovely paint.

Dark Earth added. I found the pattern on Google.

Getting there. I tidied up the black paint and then touched in the white top. Natural metal props from Aeroclub.

I started this kit ages ago. It's quite an early Welsh Model release. The wing was in 8 parts. I would have used a balsa wood wing spar if I did another one.
Welsh Models need a huge cheer for the amount of models they have provided. The sheer volume of work is impressive. And I'm very impressed with the new kits and the resin parts. Certainly CBKs.

Interesting color scheme - the white top kind of negates the camo ?

I think it had something to do with keeping the flight deck cool, John. I've seen a few different aircraft in a similar scheme. The Argosy and Andover too. I'm not sure if the Hercules had a white top. I'll check on that.

Nice - I do like that colour scheme.

It was indeed a Middle East colour scheme mod, to keep the flight deck, electrics and growbags slightly cooler. That build is coming along really well, I love it!

It did and so did the SA Twin Pioneer.

Decals on. A coat of varnish required and a bit of window glazing to do.

I found a couple of those engine fronts at the Hudds show and should be able to duplicate some more.

That's a great looking aeroplane.
