Great argument, I fully agree, wish I had voted the other way :frown:
It may not be too late to change your vote if that is possible - we'll have to let James decide  . I'm sorry I didn't make my argument for this one more substantial earlier but to be honest I've only really just thought about it after what Phil posted  . I'd be more than happy to flesh out 100 - 150 suggestions of kits to build to help people choose (I'll nick most of them from the ATF kit index :ha: ) for Airfix, Matchbox, FROG, Kitmaster, Dapol, Merit etc. Many I suspect would be small, easy builds rather than the epic dioramas we have indulged in for the last couple of years and as I mentioned, I know several will already be built/available. I believe we could also still incorporate the period ads, flyers, catalogues and mags etc. that have been offered.
To be honest, I'm only now starting to get excited about this year, but then this category is by no means the favourite so far so I'll have to wait and see.

Cheers
AL.

Al, it is my #2 vote and I would love to see it done.

Besides, my 88mm and half track will fit both the ideas I voted for and I might break down and actually build my SAM transporter and refinish the missile and launcher for this.

My first CBKs got my first vote and then Basic, better, best got my second vote. I think the cottage industrys one needs more than a years planning (i know ive been banging on about it for a long time but it needs planning).

I will try and support whichever theme wins this year but i do feel the 1963 themed ones will be done to much by other clubs / sigs.

I have gone for Everything but Aroeplanes. May force me to have a decent go at Figure Painting or a tall Ship(rigging Oh no ). Most Sigs are doing A 1963 Theme. I hope this one gets more support

everything but aeroplanes for me; would think it would be a very eye catching display in amongst all the aeroplaney stands.

1. My first CBKs, as it ticks all the boxes.
2. Everything but Aeroplanes, celebrates one of the features of modelling of yore, we built what ever took our fancy. I would like to do this one year if not this as I have my eye on some Bullfinches ;-)

I'd like to pull my "Only game" vote and put it against "Everything but" and then reverse the order so "Everything" is #1 and "My first" is #2.

The more I think about it, "Everything but ..." has impact, totally unexpected ....

@Paul, I have a Kingfisher ....

OK so we don't need the Bullfinches

I will start toting up the votes at the weekend giving more weight to 1st preferences. So if you haven't declared which two you have voted for yet please do. 16 and half people have voted so far.

Following good arguments, I've changed my vote (Looks like it's possible just to click different checkboxes -- you don't vote twice it just changes them around). My first preference is no "Everything But..." and my second for "My first..."

Once we're down to two, we can have a run off if needed to see if those who voted for others would transfer their votes.

bestest,
M.

OK, I did chnage mine, per my comment above (and Matt's). The poll didn't say we could, so I didn't try .... dummy !

Yes, I set the poll to allow you to change your vote. I try to remember to do this with any poll I set up as I see no reason making your live with your mistakes

Quick note I have changed my vote to My First CBK & Basic Better Best.

I like the Basic better best idea, as several of the good old CBK are still available in the shops and for example the Airfix Seahawk built OOB next to a modified kit next to the new HobbyBoss kit would show what large steps I and the manufactures have made since 1963.
