Looks excellent, brings back memories of travelling the A10 pre Ely bypass! Not only has the meatbox gone, but so too has large parts of RAF Hospital Ely. I wonder where the NF14 ended up?

It's been restored to it's original scheme and now resides in aviation museum in Malta:

Although I think the Dayglo may be slightly different now and it looks like re-painted in light grey rather than High Speed Silver. So as Paul says, mine rendering might be a 'fresh from the paint shop...'

Thanks for the positive comments chaps. I'd read that the Matchbox Meteor was a bit of a pig to build, but I found it quite pleasant with few if any fit issues. The only place to be careful of is the u/c attachment as the instructions are vague and unclear, as well as having no location holes. Superglue was the solution once a few photos had been consulted.

Next on the GB bench the Airfix Meteor III :)

Very interesting to see WS774 being built again, well done.
I did this very aircraft 3 times in a Britmodeller GB in 2008 http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/inde ... le-header/;
Image
and previously for John Holder - I work with his son.
With John, I visited WS774 during her restoration and took photos.
Interesting to sit in the cockpit, all the clocks in the front - and absolutely nothing in the back!

Very nice indeed. It looks like there were no long Dayglo stripes on the wings according to yours. I couldn't find any photos of WS774 from above when I was looking so went with the default T8 scheme as per Hannants Dayglo decal set. I also forgot to create the stripy effect on the leading edge Dayglo, which I had intended to do. Anyway, that can always be painted in afterwards. But your 'faded to greyish High Speed Silver' is a lot better than mine, and far closer to how I remember it - what paint did you used?

I have fond memories of that Meteor and may re-create it again in it's Camouflage period.

This image was from her days at Quedgeley.
http://www.maltaviationmuseum.com/aircr ... tpage1.jpg;
It was difficult to get any higher for above photos.
I've got another slightly better shot, that John gave me - as a guide to paint HIS model (the first one)!
It was difficult to tell the true finish. Too uniform for NMF,
but then silvery grey or greyish silver? In the end I mixed grey and silver together and airbrushed with that.
Oh and check the GB thread - those dayglos are painted and masked. On the real plane they were REALLY faded down the south-facing side.
Another modeller found a service photo of WS774 in a book. The stripes looked impressively accurate
