We even use the same terminology: "...buying fine wines when first bottled and storing them (laying them down, in wine parlance) until they are ready to drink is a real option." :lol:

Wine is meant to drink. With screw tops it will not get any better! We have about a dozen bottles left from our Christmas purchases but another three cases due in for Easter. (Big birthday party for someone:-))

Lots. However, the content varies quite a bit with what is available on the overseas side of things. BBC Worldwide is a separate entity to the BBC itself and what YOU are accessing is really a BBC Worldwide site - not the BBC itself.

When I come across messages like that, I just use a proxy.

Handy to keep the following site bookmarked.
http://www.publicproxyservers.com/proxy/list1.html;
Go to one of the 'Domain' links (this time I used the highest US-based proxy on the list), paste the url into the box and click 'unblock'
The list changes all the time, but anything with a rating of 70 or higher will usually work well.
Once you're into the blocked site, any links you click within that site, you'll remain 'proxied'.

VERY annoying when a UK-based company blocks UK users, for no other reason than it's aimed at overseas viewers.

The assumption is that you don't NEED to access it as you have full access to the normal BBC site.

There are also issues about permissions and licences for certain content which BBC MAY be able to show overseas but can't show in the UK because the licence for the UK is held by someone else.
