Sexy Sixties build?

Post by Chuck Finley »

With the "Nifty Fifties" group build coming to a close at the end of the month, I wonder if anybody would be interested in a sixties group build? The build would allow any aircraft, helicopter, ship, vehicle, or Missile, in any scale, as long as it it is from January 1, 1960 to December 31, 1969. This would be a great excuse for building the new HP Victor from Airfix or even an old Vulcan. The only requirement is that the markings have to be from the sixties era.
On second thoughts, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place!

Sounds good!, if I can find something with a little extra added as I have with the B-36 and it's gun turret, even better.

Depending on timing, I'm up for this!
Best wishes

Why not go with the old Hasegawa B-47 with the new Pavla upgrades? They were still flying them in the sixties and Spectre Resins has a nice Mk-6 Atomic bomb for a realistic loadout. I talked with a B-47 pilot and he said the only bombs they carried were of a 'special' nature, Never conventional ordinance.

Why not all things?, land and sea stuff could easily be accommodated. What did you have in mind?.

Chuck- B-47 sounds good, I've got a built one but a new one would be nice, especially if the old one is as in need of a re-do as I think.

I've got the Mikromir HMS Resolution Polaris sub in the stash for one but there's really no need to limit it to aircraft. It would likely attract more interest with a wider subject base.

Lots of sexy kit about in the sixties. I would be in depending on timings.

Yes, make the Resolution, I have that, might go naval if I can find something, make a nice change.

It never was. The original proposal included missiles. The revised proposal adds ships and vehicles as long as they are from the sixties.

I have the Revell of Germany, USS Hornet (CVS-12) that recovered the Apollo 11 capsule in 1969. It would be the perfect opportunity for building that lady. :)

So, just to be all-inclusive, we could also open up to figures ?

I'd be down with about a third of my stash. Any chance we could make it a two month build, so I can actually finish something.

I might go for an F-111 for this depending on when we do it, and whether I can wait that long!!. I want to do an 'F' model from RAF Lakenheath as my Dad and I spent many hours watching the F-111's sitting on a bit of heathland in line with the end of the runway. You could feel the car vibrate when they took off and you could get some great head on shots as they came in to land.
