It certainly looks a good fit from here!
Best wishes
Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I am thinking I may build this wheels down. Does anybody know the original colours of the wheels, undercarriage legs and wheel wells on the RAF C-130K?

I am still hoping for colour advice on wheel wells, etc. I have asked on britmodeller too. In anticipation of getting some info., I have boxed in the wheel wells. Just a rough job but it should prevent any see though especially as the wheel wells will be invisible when the thing is sitting on the ground anyway.
I am hoping I can close up the fuselage tomorrow.

Wheel wells ? Quite possibly. It looks like the wheels hubs and undercarriage may have been aluminium or silver paint.MarkyM607 wrote:Would they not be a light grey or white?.
Fuselage closed up - not without problems getting the radome to fit tight and some seam filling will be needed. Plus some of my noseweights have detached and are sliding around but I think they will stay put if I tip it forward. The opening cargo doors are neatly done but as I am fast running out of time, there's no interior and I have glued them shut. Nacelles and props getting some primer before final sorting and then, hopefully, paint.

Looking very good David, ready for final assembly.
As for the wheel bay colour a quick internet search shows that the wheels & U\C door insides are white but that could be a modern thing. Sorry i can't be more helpful.

Mojo waning and time running out. I suddenly noticed the heavy frames round the canopy framing and they have to go. Started that but more paring/sanding needed. I also got fed up hearing the adrift weights sliding about so I opened up the fuselage under where the wing will go and took them out. Now mulling doing it wheels up to save time (plus I hate painting wheels).

That would solve your colour conundrum.

Thanks, OT. I'm almost certain to need it.Old_Tonto wrote:That would solve your colour conundrum.

One stroke of good luck. I had been worrying about how to make the astrodome but the spares box yielded this leftover from my Glencoe Moonliner build a couple of Christmases ago.

This seems to be fighting you every step of the way! I hope you manage to get the time to finish it
Best wishes

Not it's not really, Iggie. All my builds are like this and it's not the kits. It's me.

This (kindly moulded on the outside of a pylon!) must be the date the kit was re-engineered because I am sure it's older than that.
All primered. A few seams still need a bit of work but the plan is to try painting the wings and fuselage separately to ease masking and then join them, deal with the top seam and touch up. Time will tell.
A long way still to go.
