That's quite a striking cokour scheme as it is, with the masking tape and blue tac!
Best wishes

I agree, that is building into a striking looking scheme. Hopefully the sun will come out soon and we can see the results of your "rattlecan portion of the programme" - I like that expression!

Thanks, gents. As a matter of fact the sun did come out long enough yesterday for me to finish the Zwilling's basic scheme. Turned out all right I think. Next will be the scoring with pencil graphite and flecks of aluminum paint for scratched paint and wear and tear, and hopefully at least wash before wax and decals.

I agree, that has turned out rather well GMG. This is a striking '109 variant, that's for sure.

Thanks so much folks. Back now from the fam jam Easter thing and have scuffed up the Zwilling a little bit. Usual black wash and up close wear and tear from a soft graphite pencil tip. I don't know how many times I have broken off at least one underwing cannon barrel but it is getting really old. Floor wax on now and most likely tomorrow for the decalling. Most of the very comprehensive stencils look manageable but the Balkankreuzen, even after a good thrashing of decal film, look very dodgy indeed. I may have enough in spares to compensate, worst case scenario.

This beastie is really coming together now with the paint GMG. All being well you can make those decals behave or replace them.

Decals wrestled and beaten into submission. So far, so good. Floor wax on now, and tomorrow hopefully it and the Gustav will be done.

The Zwilling is finished at last. I have no idea where it will be parked so first chance I get I will tack it to the ceiling. I handed the port propellor, and then realised for that engine to be handed it would have to be a mirror image of the starboard engine, therefore at least the supercharger intake would be on the right side of the cowling. Too late to change it now.

Very nice. Interesting that each airframe kept both sets of landing gear.

That is certainly a very different version of the '109, GMG and is an excellent build 8-)
